Two homes in Winnipeg's West Broadway neighbourhood went up in flames Sunday afternoon.
The fire started in a home at 205 Spence Street around 3 p.m. and first responders arrived soon after.
The fire eventually spread to the neighbouring address at 203 Spence Street.
About 30 neighbours gathered nearby.
Amy Rothnie lives three houses away from where the fire started.
She smelled smoke and ran outside to see flames shooting out the roof of 205 Spence Street.
A window blew out and 203 Spence Street caught fire, Rothnie said.
CBC's Chris Glover who was at the scene reported that crews seem to have the situation under control. The fire has been contained and reduced to smoke at this point.
Some of those gathered at the scene said they saw two people escape 205 Spence, which some people described as a rooming house. One person said there'd even been a fight there that morning.
So far there are no reports of injuries, but ambulances were on the scene.
