City crews are cleaning up after a huge watermain break in Winnipeg's Exhange District.

The break happened just after 7 a.m. on Bannatyne Avenue between Ellen Street and Dagmar Street. The gushing water quickly flooded those streets as well as part of McDermot Avenue.

A nearby school, Victoria Albert, was also partially flooded but was still open for classes.

Drivers are urged to be careful in the area, which is now extremely icy.
