A large water main break created traffic havoc on a busy stretch of roadway in northwest Winnipeg on Tuesday morning.
It happened at about 7 a.m. on Route 90 (Oak Point Highway) at Selkirk Avenue.
The lake that formed prompted police to shut down a section of Route 90 at Egesz Street for several hours.
But before they did, the water stalled two semi-trailer units. A front-end loader was used to free one of them while the other remained stuck, spinning its wheels on ice, for about a half hour.
It was eventually able to get on its way again but Route 90 remained closed in that area until about 11 a.m.
