As of Monday, people in Virden, Man. will have to travel further for emergency medical care Wednesday through Friday.
The Health Centre's Emergency Room will only be open Saturday to Tuesday moving forward, because they don't have enough doctors to staff the facility.
Penny Gilson, CEO of Prairie Mountain Health in Virden, confirmed the health centre's limited hours, citing a shortage of physicians as the reason for the closure.
The nearest hospitals outside of Virden are in Hamiota, Melita and Brandon.
The clinic remains open and officials with the Assiniboine Regional Health Authority remind residents to call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.
Anyone needing non-urgent assistance can call the clinic to book an appointment Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or call Health Links at anytime at (204) 788-8200 or toll-free 1-888-315-9257.
