Hillary’s body was found in a field just outside of Winnipeg on Aug. 20, 2009.

At the time, RCMP said they were treating Wilson’s death as a homicide, but so far, no arrests have been made in the case.

Gwen Wilson, Hillary’s mom, held a small vigil for her at 6 p.m. at Selkirk Avenue and McKenzie Street. About 20 people attended the vigil.

In previous years, Gwen organized memorial walks for her daughter, but in 2013, she said she could no longer do it.

The vigil comes one day after more than 2,000 people gathered to remember slain 15-year-old Tina Fontaine and Faron Hall. Both Fontaine and Hall’s body were found in the Red River on Sunday.

Police are actively looking for tips in Fontaine’s case and said Hall’s death is not suspicious.

Hillary’s family still holds out hope someone will come forward with information.
