Vehicles freed from thick ice at Winnipeg parking lot
Cars had been frozen in Maples lot since New Year's Eve
About two dozen vehicles that had been locked in thick ice at a Winnipeg parking lot since New Year's Eve have finally been freed.
The vehicles had been frozen in the parking lot since a water main break flooded a townhouse complex on Morello Bay at Jefferson Avenue, in the Maples neighbourhood, on Dec. 31.

On Monday, crews used high-pressure steam to loosen the ice, then tow trucks pulled the vehicles out.
