A brazen smash-and-grab has police digging through debris at a Winnipeg furniture store.

A vehicle drove through the front of the Easyhome store at Ellice Avenue and Empress Street just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.

It ripped around inside the store and the suspects loaded up on a few items before taking off, police said.

On its way out, the vehicle dragged security gates and shelving onto the pavement and parking lot, along with glass and metal from the shattered front doors.

It's unknown yet exactly what was stolen. The lease-to-own store sells furniture, appliances, electronics and computers.

Store staff and police are going through the mess, cleaning and taking stock.
