The Winnipeg Jets are facing off against the New York Rangers tonight, as the team clings to NHL playoff hopes, and 96 per cent of fans sitting in the upper decks say they will be back next year.
That's how many season-ticket holders in the upper-deck level have renewed their three-year contracts, with half of those indicating they want to renew beyond the three years.
Scott Brown of True North Sports and Entertainment says the Jets are thrilled with those numbers.
"We were hoping that there would be, in that category, over 90 per cent renewal. That was sort of the target we had," he said Friday.
"To get to the 96 per cent level, I think, is something that really brings a smile to our face here at MTS Centre."
Brown said the renewal of the more expensive tickets will be up in the next couple of years, and there are still about 3,000 people on the waiting list.
He says people on that list should be patient and not give up, as there may be some movement in other levels of tickets.
The puck drops at 7 p.m. at the MTS Centre.
