A trio of penguins went on display for the first time ever at the Assiniboine Park Zoo on Friday.
Three African black-footed penguins waddled through the exhibit Friday morning after a long journey from Atlanta.
The group is part of a temporary seasonal exhibit that runs daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and allows visitors to get a close-up look at the animals from underwater and above-ground viewing areas.
The zoo has never had penguins on exhibit before, and it will provide interpretive displays to visitors that explain the plight of penguins in the wild.
The penguins will be on display at the zoo until Sept. 30.
