Kristin Millar tells CBC's Information Radio what it is like to get a chance for a future after getting a heart transplant.
When she was just 18, Millar was diagnosed with a heart condition and was told she could drop dead at any moment.
Two years ago she went into heart failure and it almost killed her. She had a left ventricular assistive device put in to keep her heart beating.
She kept the device in her coach purse and insisted she wasn't sick, just accessorized.
Well she doesn't have to carry that purse anymore.
On Jan. 6, Millar got a new heart.
