Train cars derail south of Winnipeg
Emergency crews are dealing with a train derailment involving several CN cars in St. Norbert, just south of Winnipeg.
The southbound train derailed at around 12:55 p.m. Sunday.
No injuries were reported, and Winnipeg police say there doesn't appear to be any fire.
Upwards of seven cars were affected, but none of them carried hazardous products, according to CN.
Company spokesperson Lindsay Fedchyshyn said two of the cars carried plastic products, another two had wood products, and the rest carried pipes.
Fedchyshyn said it's too early to say what caused the derailment, and the cleanup is expected to last several hours.
Southbound traffic on Pembina was reduced to one lane as crews cleaned up the scene. Northbound traffic is not affected.
