A fire tore through a two-storey house on Toronto Street on Sunday evening.

No one in house at time of blaze, cause under investigation

A fire tore through a house on Toronto Street in Winnipeg on Sunday evening.

Winnipeg police cadets called fire crews just after 5 p.m. after noticing smoke coming from a nearby street while on patrol at Ellice Avenue and Maryland Street in the city's West End.

When firefighters arrived at 412 Toronto, there was heavy smoke in the two-storey house.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
