Around 70 part-time Ticketmaster employees in Winnipeg have lost their jobs.

The concert and event ticket sale company said more people are going online to buy tickets and fewer are phoning in their purchases, forcing the company to trim down their workforce.

Ticketmaster said it will maintain a client and customer support office in Winnipeg.

Employees received 10 weeks notice and will be able to apply for other positions within the company, Ticketmaster said.

Ticketmaster operates nine offices throughout Canada.
