Winnipeg police said Saturday they have made a third arrest after an incident in which three teens were allegedly held at knifepoint, robbed and assaulted last weekend.

Police said three friends, two 18-year-old females and an 18-year-old male, were confronted by several suspects near Empress Street last Saturday, July 12.

The teens were threatened with a knife, robbed, and the male was assaulted. One of the teens was forced to hand over the PIN number to her debit card and cash was withdrawn from her account.

On Wednesday police arrested two males, 17 and 19, and on Friday, police said a third suspect,16, was arrested without incident in the area of Pacific Avenue and Keewatin Street.

He has been charged with several offences and is being held in custody.

Police said their investigation is continuing and further arrests are pending.
