Winnipeg police are looking for two armed men who stole cash during a home invasion yesterday.

The robbery happened shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Bertrand Street, in the city's St. Boniface area.

According to police, two men — one armed with a black pistol, the other armed with pepper spray — forced their way into the house when a 67-year-old male resident opened the door.

The suspects came across a 66-year-old woman and demanded cash and other items from her.

While one of the men discharged pepper spray in the direction of the man, the woman fled the house and called police.

The suspects left the house with an undisclosed amount of cash, and officers in the area couldn't find them.

No serious injuries were reported, according to police.

Police described both men as being in their 20s, around five feet nine or 10 inches in height, with slim builds.

The suspects were wearing dark clothes and balaclavas at the time of the robbery, according to police.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery is asked to call investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
