A teen boy is in stable condition in hospital after being shot in Winnipeg.
Police were called to the lane between the 800 blocks of Alfred and Aberdeen Avenues, in the city's North End, just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
The investigation has revealed that several suspects forced their way into a house, prompting residents to run out.
As they were fleeing, one of the intruders pulled out a gun and fired in the direction of the people running away, striking the teen.
Mary Zybert lives nearby and had been near the scene just minutes earlier.
"Shooting right there, where I was 45 minutes before. It leaves me speechless," she said.
Zybert rushed over when she heard the commotion, worried it was her son. She said the boy was talking to paramedics but couldn't get up.
Officers were in the area investigating until midnight.
So far there are no suspects.
