A teenage boy was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being shot in Winnipeg’s William Whyte neighbourhood on Monday.

Police and emergency crews rushed to the 600 block of Manitoba Avenue, in the city's North End, at about 2 p.m. to find the injured teen.

He was later upgraded to stable condition at the hospital.

Officers remained on the scene for more than an hour after the incident interviewing neighbours and combing the area.

Two people were taken into custody but no charges have yet been laid against anyone.
