Syrians living in Winnipeg say they are worried about family members and friends in their home country, as the two-year-old conflict in Syria continues with no end in sight.
The situation in Syria has prompted politicians in Canada to hold an emergency debate on this country's role in Syria on Tuesday evening.
No vote will be held after the debate, but the debate is expected to give government and opposition speakers a chance to have their say in areas such as the implications of chemical weapons use, or Canada's potential involvement in the conflict.
The Syrian Assembly of Manitoba estimates there are about 200 Syrians living in the province.
Many are watching for updates, speaking with family members and friends over the phone or online.
