Winnipeg emergency crews are cleaning up after a sport-utility vehicle smashed into the window of a hair salon at a Portage Avenue strip mall on Monday afternoon.

The SUV crashed into the Singleton's Hair Care salon on Portage and Moray Street at about 3:15 p.m.

Witness Jared Varey said it looked like the young woman who was behind the wheel was trying to park when she hit the accelerator instead of the brakes.

"I was just shocked," he said.

"Just to see her go in so slow and then take out the whole window, it was quite amazing to see that."

No one appeared to be seriously injured in the incident.
