Sun? Warmth? On the same day? Yes Winnipeg, it's coming

Winnipeggers are in for something they haven't experienced in seven months — a truly warm, sunny day.

Unfortunately, it's probably just one day.

CBC meteorologist John Sauder is calling for 18 C Saturday with clear skies. Winnipeg hasn't hit 18 C since Oct. 11, 2013.

That's the normal temperature for this time of year, by the way.

Friday will come close, with an expected high of 15 C, but the warmth with be somewhat mitigated by north winds.

That's no surprise. Until now, the few sunny days we've had have been tainted by cold winds, and any warm-ish days have been ruined by rain.

Speaking of which, the rain returns on Mother's Day and looks like it might stick around until Wednesday.
