Summer-like weather warms up Winnipeg

Summer seems to like hanging around in southern Manitoba, keeping the weather unusually warm these days.

Summer seems to like hanging around in southern Manitoba, keeping the weather unusually warm these days.

The temperature hit 26.6 C in Winnipeg on Monday while Carman was the provincial hot spot at 26.8C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 16 C and overnight low of 4 C.

Winnipeg's low was a balmy 13 C Monday night into Tuesday morning.

CBC weather specialist Marilyn Maki said the warmth will linger for a while yet, with the forecast calling for a high of 22 C in Winnipeg on Tuesday and 23 C on Wednesday with mainly sunny skies.

The normal temperatures will likely return by the end of the week, Maki said.
