A 16-year-old boy who was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in downtown Winnipeg Saturday afternoon is in stable condition.

Police had taped off Junior's Restaurant, after a receiving a call about a stabbing on Portage Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. CST.

The teen made his way from Portage Avenue to the 400 block of Langside Street, where paramedics attended to him from the back of Mangus Eliason Recreation Centre.

The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Police were interviewing people around the recreation centre Saturday.

There is no word yet if any arrests have been made.
