An RCMP officer in Manitoba has been charged with assault and uttering threats in an alleged domestic dispute.

Mounties from the East District say an officer's common-law partner called them earlier this month and said she had been threatened and assaulted.

Another allegation of assault was made during the investigation.

A 41-year-old officer was arrested last week and released on a promise to appear in provincial court next month.

Police say the alleged victim did not suffer injuries or require any medical treatment.

The officer has been put on administrative duties.

His name and where the offence occurred are not being released to protect the alleged victim's identity.
