A 32-year-old man is dead after a house fire in Brandon late Friday night.

Emergency crews responded to the blaze at a house on the 500 block of Ross Ave. at about 11 p.m. CST.

When firefighters arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames. Three other people inside the home were able to make their way outside.

Police said after speaking with residents they learned there was a fourth person in the house.

The residents told police smoke was seen coming from the basement. They tried to put out the fire, which originated in a couch downstairs. When they couldn't put the fire out, they ran outside.

According to the group a fourth person was last seen in the basement of the home.

It wasn't until after firefighters put out the fire, that they were able to enter the home and locate the fourth person.

The body of a 32-year old man was discovered on the main floor.
