Winnipeggers will join millions across the world in turning their clocks forward this Sunday.
Daylight Saving Time sees 2 a.m. become 3 a.m. on March 10.
City officials said Winnipeggers should take the time to check their smoke detectors when they’re changing their clocks.
Winnipeg’s Fire-Paramedic Service said batteries should be changed twice a year to make sure it’s ready in case of a fire.
City officials said people are four times more likely to die in a fire if their smoke alarms are not working.
Daylight saving time occurs twice a year, and after Sunday’s adjustment, the next time clocks will need to be adjusted is Nov. 3.
The bi-annual change has been linked to increased rates of heart-attack when clocks spring forward and increased traffic accidents when clocks fall back.Share Tools
