Manitoba Finance Minister Stan Struthers says he will present the province's 2013 budget on April 16.
The budget comes as provinces across Canada deal with global economic uncertainty, and the Bank of Canada forecasts a slower rate of economic growth in Manitoba this year, Struthers said in a release Thursday.
The government is committed to maintaining an affordable cost of living in Manitoba, as well as creating opportunities to train more people for skilled jobs in the province, he said.
The tabling of the budget will kick off the spring session of the Manitoba legislature.
In the 2012 budget, Greg Selinger's NDP government fought a growing deficit by raising taxes on gasoline, tobacco, and vehicle registration.
Last year's budget also made spa treatments, tattooing, piercings, and many types of insurance subject to the provincial sales tax (PST).
