If you didn't get a chance to go on Winnipeg's River Trail this winter, you'll have to wait for next year.
The entire six-kilometre trail, which links the Assiniboine and Red rivers, is now closed for the season.
Clare MacKay, spokeswoman for The Forks North Portage Partnership, said workers are now trying to get the last of the warming huts off the ice.
While the walking trail is slushy and impassable, the skating trail still appears to be in good condition, but that will change soon, said MacKay.
"We can no longer maintain it at all, so the conditions will probably deteriorate quite quickly," she said, urging people to stay off the ice from now on.
"If we're not maintaining it, we're not checking ice thickness. So it's really important for people to know as of today you should no longer be using the river trail at all."
The Assiniboine section of the trail was closed earlier this week after becoming swamped with water.
The water had forced officials late last week to shut down a number of access points to the trail.
