The City of Winnipeg is reviewing whether or not to offer additional bus service on Sundays.
Coun. Devi Sharma asked for a report Tuesday morning that would look at what the extra service would cost.
She said now that there are extended shopping hours on Sundays, there should be extended Winnipeg Transit service as well.
The Old Kildonan councillor said she has received complaints from constituents who have to work early on Sundays but are unable to get bus service.
“They’ve always been working on Sundays, but now they’re asked to come into work earlier,” said Sharma.
“Some folks that are taking public transit aren’t able to use that system because we’re not operating early in the morning on Sundays.”
A report is expected to be prepared in the next 60 days for city councillors to review.
