Two Manitoba teens are in RCMP custody, following a violent armed robbery in Portage la Prairie Saturday morning.

RCMP said two men wearing disguises and carrying weapons – one a baseball bat – banged on the door of a home on 17th Street NW in Portage la Prairie.

When the homeowner opened the door, the pair forced their way inside and assaulted the homeowner.

The homeowner was later taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Now, two 18 year olds are facing a slew of charges including robbery, possession of a weapon, forcible entry and failure to comply with a sentence.

The pair remain in police custody and will appear in a Portage la Prairie court on Tuesday.
