Two people are facing drug-related charges following a pair of police raids in Winnipeg.

Police raided a home on the 200 block of Emerson Avenue on Thursday, and another home on the 400 block of Shorehill Drive on the same day.

Inside the homes, police found cocaine, marijuana, two cans of pepper spray and $240,000 in cash.

A 27-year-old man from Winnipeg and a 22-year-old woman from Lockport, Man., are both facing numerous drug trafficking-related charges.

The raids were a part of a six-month investigation into alleged drug traffickers operating in the East District Area, including St. Vital, Transcona, North Kildonan and East Kildonan.

During the investigation police executed 12 search warrants and made 20 arrests.
