A serious car crash sent one person to hospital and closed a portion of Roblin Boulevard during rush hour Thursday.

Winnipeg police were on scene of the crash and taped off the westbound lanes of Roblin near Dieppe Road where a small car could be seen with serious front-end damage.

At least one person was taken to hospital in unstable condition, according to police. The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known.

Police said the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m., and the road remained closed around 4:30 p.m.
