Canadian National Railway operations at the Fort Rouge rail yard in Winnipeg have been suspended after a train derailed in the rail yards near the intersection of Pembina Highway and Jubilee on Saturday morning, at about 10:30 a.m. CST.

CN officials told CBC News about eight train cars derailed, six of which ended up on their sides.

The cars were carrying household and consumer goods, but nothing hazardous, officials said.

An investigation is underway.

Officials said they hope to have the derailment cleared later on Saturday.
