Some Winnipeg drivers say they are having to deal with tall snowbanks, created by city plows clearing snow from the streets.
A number of drivers told CBC News they are unhappy with the snowbanks — some over a metre tall — piling up on street corners and obscuring their view of the road.
Some also raised concerns about plowed snow piling up on sidewalks, making it difficult for homeowners to put their garbage and recycling carts on the curbs.
The City of Winnipeg says it has received 140 complaints about high snowbanks since the beginning of this month, with crews doing their best to monitor and relocate the tall piles of snow and ice.
"It's just the challenge of living in a winter city and having to digging ourselves out right now," Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry Coun. Jenny Gerbasi said Thursday.
"We've also [brought] in new systems — we've got a new garbage system, we've got a new snow zone system."
The city's residential parking ban officially ended at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday.
Officials are advising people who still spot a tall snowbank to call 311 and report it.
