Two men have been arrested in an armed home invasion near New Bothwell, Man., on Sunday.

RCMP say three or four men, wearing black balaclavas and carrying guns, forced their way into a camper where a woman was living at around 2:30 a.m. CT Sunday.

Police said the men pepper-sprayed the woman and forced her into the back room, where one suspect held her at gunpoint while the others rummaged through the camper.

The suspects also entered a home where the woman's six-year-old child was staying, RCMP alleged.

The group stole electronic devices from both the home and the camper before they fled the area in a vehicle, according to police.

The two men, aged 20 and 22, from Blumenort, Man., were arrested on Tuesday, RCMP said in a release Wednesday.

The 20-year-old has been charged with unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise, breaking and entering to commit theft, two counts of assault with a weapon, and a number of firearms-related charges.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Winnipeg on Thursday.

The 22-year-old man is facing one count of possessing property obtained by crime. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 20.

Both men were arrested at a home in Blumenort, where RCMP officers recovered some of the items that were believed to have been stolen in the home invasion.

The incident remains under investigation.
