2 women struck by semi-trailer in Winnipeg

A 22-year-old woman is in critical condition and a 24-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after they were hit by a semi-trailer in Winnipeg.
It happened at about 7:30 p.m. CT Thursday at Century Street and Wellington Avenue.
Police say the two women were walking northbound on the street — in the same direction as the truck — when they were struck from behind.
Police shut down Century from Wellington to Saskatchewan Avenue and didn't reopen the road until 5 a.m. Friday.
The 24-year-old woman was treated and later released from hospital. The 22-year-old woman remains in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
