A fire that damaged a child and family services building in Norway House, Man., this morning is being investigated as arson, according to RCMP.

Police and fire crews in the northern Manitoba town were called to the Kinosao Sipi Minisowin Agency Building at about 8:30 a.m. CT Thursday.

The building, which housed the offices of a child and family services agency, had additions that were being built at the time, RCMP said in a release.

No one was hurt in the fire, as no one was in the building at the time.

Damages from the fire will likely exceed $1 million, according to police.

RCMP and the provincial fire commissioner's office are investigating the fire, which police say is being treated as arson.

No arrests have been made at this time, according to police.
