A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a homicide in Plum Coulee, Man., over the weekend.
Police in nearby Altona, Man., were called at 8:15 p.m. CT Sunday to a home in Plum Coulee, where they found the body of a 42-year-old man.
RCMP say they have been asked by the Altona Police Service to help with the investigation.
The 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the man's death, but no charges have been laid at this time, RCMP said Monday.
Police are not releasing the names of the teen and the victim. Sgt. Line Karpish would only say that both individuals knew each other.
"We can share that, you know, there is a relationship. However, neither party can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act," Karpish told CBC News.
Members of the RCMP's major crimes unit and forensic identification section remain in Plum Coulee on Monday, as are officers from police services in Altona, Morden and Winkler.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
"The scene will be held until the autopsy is conducted and those aspects have been covered off. So yes, we are still on scene," Karpish said.
The town of Plum Coulee is located about 90 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg and 20 kilometres northwest of Altona.
