Three Manitobans are among 91 Canadians chosen to receive the country's highest honour — the Order of Canada.

Janice Filmon, wife of former premier Gary Filmon, is being recognized for her work in a variety of charitable causes.

Broadcaster Elmer Hildebrand will also receive the honour, for his contributions to community service radio in Western Canada.

Hildebrand is the head of Golden West Broadcasting, which owns 30 stations across the Prairies.

Phil Fontaine, the former Assembly of First Nations grand chief, will also receive the honour for his role in the resolution of claims arising from the Indian residential school issue.

The Order of Canada was established in 1967 by Queen Elizabeth II to recognize a person for their lifetime of achievement, dedication and service to the country.
