Homicide victim linked to Winnipeg's drug culture

Orland Joseph Adams was found beaten inside a home in the city's St. Boniface neighbourhood. (Winnipeg Police Service)A man found beaten to death inside a Winnipeg home was involved in the city's drug culture and his death could be connected to that, police said.
Orland Joseph Adams, 49, died on Dec. 14 after being assaulted inside his home in the 500 block of St. Catherine Street, in Winnipeg's St. Boniface area.
His death is Winnipeg's 29th homicide of 2012.
Police, on Friday, issued a news release asking the public to contact them with any information about Adams' death or his activities in the days just prior to it.
Investigators have detemined he was at home and got involved in an argument with someone at the back door. Things escalated into a fight and Adams sustained fatal injuries.
Police believe that the suspect or suspects were known to Adams.
