Ste. Anne, Manitoba

Randy Chudyk has been charged with one count of careless use of a firearm and one count of pointing a firearm, following an outside investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).

A release from ASIRT, sent Friday, said the firearm in question is a conducted energy weapon, which is more popularly known as a stun gun or Taser.

Chudyk will make his first court appearance on Jan. 10 in Steinbach, Man.

He has since resigned from the Ste. Anne Police Department, according to ASIRT, which is an independent police investigator that was asked by the Manitoba government to look into the Ste. Anne incident.
