A 58-year-old woman who was critically injured in a Winnipeg house fire on Thursday has died.
Joanne Parry died late Thursday, police said on Friday morning.
Her husband Bert Parry also died Thursday in the blaze at their two-storey home on the 500 block of Hethrington Avenue.
The couple was well known in the area as being helpful and knowledgeable of local history.
Bert, who was in his 80s, grew up in the home, having lived there since he was four years old.
Neighbours said Parry used to be very active in the community, making crafts and working in backyard woodshop, but in recent years he had been spending a lot of time caring for his wife, who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Damage to the house is estimated at $200,000.
