Manitobans are facing a day of rain or snow depending on where they live.
It's rain in the south while a winter storm watch is in effect for the north, where 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall.
"It's going to be a stormy 36 hours in northern Manitoba," said CBC weather specialist Marilyn Maki.
The watch includes the communities of Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, Pukatawagan,Thompson, Nelson House, Split Lake, Gillam and Shamattawa.
According to Environment Canada, a large storm that is currently affecting southern Saskatchewan will begin to push into northern Manitoba.
Rain, at first, will change to snow tonight and will continue through Wednesday, accompanied by strengthening northeast winds, giving poor visibility in snow and blowing snow.
A winter storm watch is an alert of the potential development of severe winter weather. If the forecasted conditions persist and become more likely, the watch will be upgraded to a warning.
In the south, including Winnipeg, rainfall amounts are expected to total about 10 to 15 millimetres before ending just after 12 a.m. on Wednesday, which will have a mix of sun and cloud and a high of about 4 C.
