Some Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans are being told their seats at Investors Group Field, the team's new stadium, will not come with ideal views of the game.

Bombers officials have begun contacting season-ticket holders whose seats at the new stadium will have obstructed views, spokesman Darren Cameron confirmed to CBC News.

"Every new sports facility faces this issue, so we had anticipated it and held back a block of seats to accommodate any fan concerns," Cameron said in an email late Tuesday.

Affected fans are being invited to Investors Group Field, which is currently under construction, to decide what they want to do with their seats.

One season-ticket holder told CBC News a hand-rail has been blamed for his obstructed view. Cameron confirmed that hand-rails are an example of what can obstruct fans' views.

Cameron said the Bombers are offering a number of options, including an opportunity to choose a new seat within the same price range they paid for their original seats.

In some cases, if not all cases, fans can keep their obstructed-view seats with a 50 per cent discount on their tickets.

"Our goal is to ensure we address all fan concerns," Cameron said.

Investors Group Field, which is being built at the University of Manitoba in south Winnipeg, was supposed to open earlier this year.

But numerous construction delays have forced the team to play the entire 2012 CFL season back at its old facility, Canad Inns Stadium.

The new stadium is currently slated to open in time for the 2013 season.
