Winnipeg hit-and-run victim dies

An 18-year-old man struck in a hit-and-run in September has died, prompting charges against the driver to be upgraded.
The man was walking in the northbound median lane near the concrete divider of the South Perimeter Highway overpass at Lagimodiere Boulevard when he was hit just before 4 a.m. on Sept. 30.
He had been in critical condition but police on Friday said he has died.
A 27-year-old man turned himself in to police shortly afterwards and was facing charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without a licence.
He now faces a charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death.
