The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs has released video pleas from relatives of missing and murdered women.

One of them is from an 11-year-old girl named Jasmine, whose mom is the focus of a search right now at Winnipeg's Brady Road landfill.

Nepinak, 31, went missing in September 2011 and though her remains have never been found, police believe they may be buried somewhere in the city landfill and that she was killed by alleged serial killer Shawn Lamb.

Jasmine is featured in one of two new public service announcement videos released by the AMC on Thursday, the National Day of Remembrance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.

The other video features Vernon Mann, Nepinak's ex-partner and Jasmine's dad.

The AMC says there are more than 80 missing and murdered women in the province.

A candlelight vigil is planned at the Manitoba legislature at 7 p.m. Thursday.
