The people of Crane River First Nation have lost their community centre to a massive fire.

The blaze destroyed the building shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Monday. By the time officers arrived on scene, the centre was already engulfed in flames.

No one was in the building at the time.

RCMP along with fire investigators from the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.

The fire is considered arson.

Crane River is located about 300 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
