Take Back the Night march attracts hundreds in Winnipeg

Hundreds of people in Winnipeg participated in the annual Take Back the Night march on Thursday evening to take a stand against violence.

Organizers said it's not just about stopping violence on the streets, noting that nearly 48,000 women in Manitoba have been victims of spousal abuse.
It was partly for that reason that the march route went through some residential areas, organizers said.
Similar marches have been taking place in communities across Canada in recent weeks.
