A 23-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after a stabbing on Sunday in Winnipeg's Windsor Park area.

It happened near Drake Boulevard and Elizabeth Road at about 8:30 p.m.

According to police, the man attacked a 22-year-old man after the latter refused to let his cellphone be borrowed.

The 23-year-old stabbed the other man in the upper body and ran off, police said.

He was later found in the area and arrested.

He is facing charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a controlled drug or substance, and numerous breaches of prior court orders.

The victim is in stable condition.
