Man found dead on Manitoba highway

A 38-year-old man is dead after being found lying on a Manitoba highway.
The man, from Fairford (Pinaymootang) First Nation, was seen at about at 11 p.m. on Thursday walking along Highway 6 near Maple Beach Road. The RCMP received several calls from concerned drivers.
Officers were on the way there when a 911 call was received of a dead man on the highway.
At about 11:20 p.m., RCMP arrived on scene and found the man in the southbound lane of the road.
Early indications are the man was lying on the road when he was struck, police said.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of an RCMP traffic reconstructionist.
