Construction has begun on upgrades to Highway 75 at the border crossing into the United States and motorists are being warned to expect some delays.
The number of traffic lanes will, at times, be reduced.
That will put a squeeze on people hoping to reach the Emerson international border point.
The project includes adding a dedicated commercial truck lane as well as improvements to the median.
There will also be new traffic signals and new lighting.
Construction should be finished by September.
The border crossing is about 100 kilometres south of Winnipeg.
